For more than 15 years, Joerg Schmidt has represented and advised his clients in the areas of patent law as well as trademark, unfair competition and design patent law. He also works on copyright law. He has extensive experience in litigation before major national courts, especially in preliminary injunction and inspection proceedings. Moreover, Jörg Schmidt has appeared in numerous proceedings before the General Court of the European Union/European Court of Justice. He is also an expert in border seizure proceedings.

Joerg Schmidt studied law in Muenster and completed additional training in “Intellectual Property Law”. After completing his first state examination, he joined the intellectual property/press law department of a renowned Cologne-based firm. Afterwards, he did professional internships in Muenster, Cologne and San Francisco. In 2002, he received his license to practice law in Duesseldorf and started working at Wildanger Kehrwald Graf von Schwerin & Partners. He became Partner in 2008.
Joerg Schmidt belongs to the German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright (GRUR), the German group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights (AIPPI) and German Association of Intellectual Property Professionals (VPP).
