Jan-Caspar Maiers, LL.M., Counsel

Jan-Caspar Maiers has been working exclusively in the field of intellectual property since his admission to the bar in 2017, focusing on the enforcement of technical property rights. He advises and represents national and international clients out of court and in infringement proceedings and contributes to parallel nullity proceedings. He also regularly assists clients in enforcing judgments in enforcement proceedings. Mr. Maiers has experience in various technical fields, such as mechanics or telecommunications. He is also familiar with antitrust issues such as the FRAND objection in the litigation of standard-essential patents and questions of protection of trade secrets in patent litigation. In addition to his patent practice, Mr. Maiers on a regular basis advises and represents clients in infringement of trademarks and designs and matters of unfair competition law.

Background

Jan-Caspar Maiers studied law at Bucerius Law School, Hamburg, and at the University of Muenster, specializing on information, telecommunication and media law. During his traineeship at the Higher Regional Court Duesseldorf, he interned at large German and international law firms, inter alia in the field of trademark and unfair competition law. After his second state examination, he received a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in intellectual property law from the University of Duesseldorf. Since he was admitted to the bar in Germany in 2017, he works at Wildanger.
