Alex-Christian Lesch


Alex-Christian Lesch is active in all areas of intellectual property law. He focuses on representing clients in mostly cross-border patent and utility model disputes. Alex-Christian Lesch is involved in infringement proceedings before the civil courts as well as in validity proceedings before the German Federal Patent Court, the German Patent and Trademark Office or the European Patent Office, in particular in proceedings concerning standard-essential patents which have a connection to antitrust law ("FRAND objection").

Other areas of Alex-Christian Lesch's practice include know-how protection in the context of the German Trade Secrets Act ("Geschäftsgeheimnisschutzgesetz") and unfair competition law, especially in preliminary injunction proceedings.

On the technical side, Alex-Christian Lesch has gained extensive experience in patent and utility model proceedings in the fields of information technology, electrical engineering and pharmaceuticals. 

Curriculum Vitae

Alex-Christian Lesch studied law at the Ruhr-University of Bochum. His main focus was on civil procedure law. During his legal clerkship, Alex-Christian Lesch worked in the litigation department of two international law firms in Düsseldorf. 

After his admission to the bar in 2015, Alex-Christian Lesch worked in the team of Dr. Andreas von Falck in the IPMT practice group of Hogan Lovells. After another stint at Herbert Smith Freehills in the Dispute Resolution practice group, Alex-Christian Lesch joined Wildanger in December 2021.

  • Advising and representing owners of standard-essential patents in the field of telecommunications in patent infringement proceedings and anti-suit-injunction proceedings.
  • Advising and representing an optics and optronics manufacturer in patent infringement proceedings concerning illumination technology in immersion lithography for the production of integrated circuits.
  • Advising and representing a streaming service provider in patent infringement proceedings relating to software algorithms for generating user-specific recommendations.
  • Advising and representing a biotechnology company in patent infringement proceedings relating to a technology using bioinformatics for early detection and therapy management of cancer using blood samples.
